This is what happens when your 4 year old has limited access to television
I found the newest 4 year old doing yoga with Denise Austin the other night. She put the video in and turned it on herself. I think I was in the bathroom at the time. Either that or I was busy cooking meth in my backyard drug lab. Whatever.
She actually popped into the bathroom to tell me she was going to play the video. I seem to recall chuckling figuring she'd be disappointed by the lack of farm animals. I forgot to factor in that our kid is wacky. She gets that from her father. She's also a very bad housekeeper. Would you just look at how messy she lets her living room get? It's like she was raised in a barn or something.

Oh my goodness - that yoga is the funniest thing I have seen all day!
I would say you have a most excellent television policy!
This is hilarious! She has such great form!
I LOVE the combination of your title and that picture. Hilarious... seriously.
She is so cute! Kids are so creative...I love when my girl does the spins with the figure skaters and she is only 2. I imagine she will love exercise videos. LOL...
How cute! Yoga is supposed to be good for kids, maybe she'll keep it up :)
our living room is just as messy. and i actually think we have some of the same toys lying in the middle of the floor as the ones you have.
That is a great picture! My kids will watch my Pilates videos while I'm doing them too. Crazy.
Lilly likes to do yoga with me sometimes...hate to admit it I think she is better than me.
i know - I laughed so hard when I found her doing that. She's nuts.
witchypoo - If our current television policy means she's going to be exercising on her own it's probably not bad.
joy - I know! She fell over a couple times trying but then she seemed to catch on to this pose.
bananas - Thanks!
jennifer - It's fun to see things through their eyes.
ginny - I hope she does continue to like yoga. I try to like exercise and it mostly just feels like work.
mama - I'm glad I'm not the only one!
stacy and christy - I tried to get her to do the yoga with me once or twice and she mostly got bored after a few minutes. Maybe that's part of what made it such a surprise finding her like this!
LOL. Great picture!
This is very funny.
Thanks to both of you! I know I got a good laugh walking up on the scene.
l love what l saw.The girl is very intelligent.l like it when a child is like that.
We all should encourage our children to be like this.
However, l want to sound a note of warning here.
Since the girl could take a tape and play it by herself at that tender age,it means you as the mother should begin to be very careful with her so that she may not,out of curiousity, pick an "adult only" tape and watch it when you probably may not be around to check or caution her.
Thanks! I agree with your cautionary note. Although about the most adult movie we own is Star Wars. But still. And she did tell me before she did it so that's good.
What's astonishing is how many of those same toys we have in our living room.
Some things are so universal!
